WHAT PARTIES DO YOU CATER FOR?
We mainly supply children's parties/events but that doesn't mean we can't help you. The plates, bowls and cups are child sized (imagine the size of a side plate). So as long as you aren't serving a full roast, they should be big enough.
IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?
Yes - at least we think so! Hiring the full set for your party saves over 200 single use items from going to landfill. Our kits are often cheaper than buying disposable items and come in great colours so no more boring white plates and flimsy cups!
HOW/WHEN DO I PAY?
Payment will need to be made before pick up of any packs. This can be done via bank transfer (details will be made available on booking) and should be cleared at least 48hrs before you pick up.
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
Yes. Each hire will require a deposit of £10. You will get this back within two working days of returning the kit, assuming it's all there and in the same condition as before.
HOW DO I CARE FOR THE PLATES?
We ask that you don't use any metal cutlery on the plates/bowls, especially for cutting. Furthermore, please don't put any of the products in the microwave. Other than that, please scrape off any excess food and put all of the products back in the box and we will handle the washing up!
HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE PLATES?
Between each hire, all of the kit is washed in a dishwasher to cleaning standards inline with the Food Standards Agency. It is then placed in a sanitised box to make sure it makes it to your party safe and sound. We check all the kits before we send them out to make sure they are in the best condition.
WHAT TIME CAN I PICK UP/DROP OFF?
We aim to be as flexible as possible to suit you. Pick up and drop off is in the Southcote area (exact address is given on booking) or we can deliver locally for a small fee (subject to availability). We understand that getting things ready for a party can be stressful, which is why you can pick up the day before. All packs must be returned on the day they are used (so that we can wash them), ideally within a couple of hours.
WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT TO OTHER HIRE COMPANIES?
There are many places out there that hire out reusable party equipment, so why use us? Well, unlike other companies, we include washing up for free with all our hire kits because we want to make it easy for you to choose zero waste. Also, all of our place settings are complete, which means you don't pay more for cutlery or bowls. Each place setting includes a plate, bowl, cup, knife, fork and spoon.
WHAT ABOUT COMPOSTABLE PLATES?
Compostable plates are good, but there are some things you should know. Some will only compost/biodegrade in certain conditions; meaning if they get thrown out in general waste, they won't break down. Some are made from more sustainable materials such as sugar cane or bamboo, but they may come wrapped in plastic and are still single use. Many of these items are often flimsy and therefore not as good for kids or if you're serving hot food.
Also, Amazon's top choice will set you back £8.99 for only 50 small plates - which means our full kit with 36 *full* place settings is much better value for money, and the environment. It's an easy choice!
